Pentecost Service and Picnic ~ May 27

The Rev. Joseph Gohn

DAY OF PENTECOST

Father Joseph Gohn’s Pentecost service was well attended and a perfect beginning for the season of Pentecost at All Saint’s. The parishioners, wearing red, enjoyed a delightful picnic after the service thanks to the hard work of John Cromwell and Mary Boyd. Those present appreciated all the delicious side dishes provided by various members of the parish.

April 7  Community Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Eve Service

Our Fr. Joseph Gohn told The Story of Easter - Gospel of the Resurrection - to over 130 excited parents and children on the grounds of the church. The Bunny helped as Chalice Bearer during the Communion service.

The community gathered together for a very special Easter celebration. Children, grandchildren, parents, friends and neighbors enjoyed the egg races, music, egg hunt, cookies, bunny cake, and balloon animals during the All Saints' Annual Easter Egg Hunt.

2007 Lay Eucharistic Ministers

We now have individuals who have been appointed as our new Lay Eucharistic Visitors and Lay Eucharistic Ministers.  The job of the Lay Eucharistic Visitor is to take communion to those who are sick and homebound.  And the Lay Eucharistic Minister is responsible for assisting at the Altar and serving as what was once the Chalice Bearer and Acolyte. Our Lay Eucharistic Visitors for 2007 are Mary Boyd and Buddy Morton who will also be assisting as Lay Eucharistic Ministers. John Cromwell and Alma Harrelson are our Lay Eucharistic Ministers.

OUR SICK AND HOMEBOUND

Buddy Morton  and Mary Boyd (Lay Eucharistic Visitors), will be taking the Reserved Sacrament to the hospitalized and homebound.  Our current list includes David Osgood, Rosemary Hargrove, Frank and Dorothy Adcock, Milton Kyle, and Frank White.  They should expect to welcome these ministers on a regular basis.  If you would like to be placed on the rotation, please advise the Church Office and you will be contacted.  The Priest will, of course, be available for emergencies.

Nancy Corinne Tucker O’Shea

The Rev, Nancy O'Shea served All Saints' on many Sundays during the months of June - October.
She was an inspiration and a joy for our parish. She inspired us to redecorate the vesting room for our priest. The parish surprised Nancy on her last day with us, October 29, with a newly decorated vesting room and party in her honor. This was also the 21 Anniversary of her Ordination. Her husband, Pat O'Shea, participated in the surprise events to honor his wife.

Amy Crone Plays Santa for
Operation Joy

Amy Crone, a student at University of Memphis, has volunteered to shop for a special Emmanuel Episcopal Center family. Donations to the Operation Joy Fund have been given by parishioners, and Amy is shopping for a family which includes three boys. Pictures of Amy’s purchases of clothes and toys may be seen on our webpage. She also had a wrapping party on the 17th of December. Laura, Lona, and Sherry helped wrap the many gifts for our special family.

We worshiped together and visited with previous members who had returned to help celebrate the 50th Anniversary of All Saints'

We gathered outside in front of the "old" church building and removed the corner stone. Behind the stone in the wall was a sealed metal box containing artifacts placed there by the early members of the church almost 50 years ago.

Bishop Don Johnson and others examined
the contents as Fr. Rob Eppes removed each document or book.
